Renewable Energy Potential in Every U.S. State, Study Shows

Science Daily -- A new study of renewable energy's technical potential finds that every state in the United States has the space and resource to generate clean energy.

The U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory produced the study, U.S. RE Technical Potential, which looks at available renewable resources in each state. It establishes an upper-boundary estimate of development potential. Economic or market restraints would factor into what projects might actually be deployed.

The report is valuable for decision-makers and utility executives because it compares estimates across six renewable energy technologies and unifies assumptions and methods. It shows the achievable energy generation of a particular technology given resource availability -- solar, wind, geothermal availability

Then add $$$ for the military spending the middle east - that "black gold" has a lot of red in it from the blood and red ink to make it "cheap"

Only the deep pocket companies can afford to attempt to provide the means to really put the idea to actual use. Maybe someday in the future it can be made more affordable for the masses, but not likely for several years.

A theory is an idea which is backed up by some information and tests done. This theory is probably far behind in testing/experimenting development. It sounds like some guesswork has been involved in it as well.

But under the current tough economic times, with a $15.9 trillion debt, 8.3% unemployment and an annual deficit of over a trillion dollars, can anyone afford to throw good money after bad to go green for the sake of going green?? Let's put people back to work, balance the budget, and pay down the debt. When we can afford it, we can then start looking at going green.
