Iran says oil under 100 dollars is 'unsuitable'
Saturday, October 04, 2008
AFP -- TEHRAN (AFP) — Iranian Oil Minister Gholam Hossiein Nozari said on Saturday that a price of under 100 dollars for a barrel of crude oil is "unsuitable." "An oil price of less than 100 dollars is unsuitable for anyone, either for producers or for consumers," Nozari told reporters on the sidelines of a gas export conference. The minister did not elaborate. "Unfortunately despite decrease in oil prices we have not seen any signs of a decrease in the costs" of oil production, he added. Asked for a forecast on prices, he said there had recently been such wild fluctuations that "five to 10 dollars up or down can not be analysed." Nozari blamed the current economic crisis in the United States and its effect on Europe for the fluctuations.

If you think about it, it's the most logical thing for them to say. The higher the price of oil:
1) the more money they make;
2) the more they damage western economies;
3) the more they diss western countries.

Boo hoo! Not enough money to fund their military and nuclear program.
That's what they are crying over.

we don't even have to be that extreme, just buy oil from other democratic/capitalist nations, no middle eastern oil or oil from Venezuela(CITGO) Don't Buy gasoline at CITGO!!!!

If u live in the eastern states, Hess is one of the few gasoline companies that does not buy middle easter oil, buy gas at a Hess

Keep falling baby!!! Those F-ing Iranies need the price of oil to remain high so that they may continue to fund terrorist groups and support other communist/socialist regimes on the rise like that in venezuela and bolivia in south america and other parts of the world. We need to stop funding these bastards, we need petroleum independence and we need ASAP. We need to take advantage of any and every possible way to reduce our independence on foreign fuels, be it solar, alternative fuels, wind, by any means necessary. I'd gladly pay $10 a gallon as long as we are not supporting terrorist nations, they hate us, f&%K'em.

"Unfortunately despite decrease in oil prices we have not seen any signs of a decrease in the costs [of oil production]"

My heart goes out to the government of Iran as they struggle with oil prices below $100.

Seriously, oil just went over $100 a few months ago and already Iran is complaining that prices are dropping down below that mark. How did they manage just a few years ago when oil prices were in the $20-$40 range?

Sounds like rampant greed to me; but then, does that surprise anyone?

I remember he said that $85 was the ceiling for gas just a year ago. We need to drill for our own oil and cut him out of the picture.

Why doesn't Iran pay what we pay for fuel, and we will see how "unsuitable" the price is.

Pushing crude up so high as caused a long-lasting change in attitude from a consumer standpoint. It happens all the time to companies that overprice their products.

Of course it is "unsuitable" - it is the result of the weakened US Economy and the failing US Dollar... the Middle East needs the US to be strong economically and greedy for oil... the may not want to rule the US, but if the addicts have their way, we will be dictated to by people from far-away places who don't like us much

I think that Iran's behavior on the world stage is "unsuitable", and as suggested by another member here I don't recall, grain for less than $100 per bushel is "unsuitable"

This guy is a terrorist idiot. Of course oil under $100 a barrel is good for the economy. Just look at how the costs of everything have gone up since oil passed $100 a barrel.

Forget Iran. We need to handle it here ourselves. Drill now! I don't see how under $100 a barrel isn't good for the consumer. The lower it goes the happier I get!
