Gas prices drop, but residents remain skeptical

Greeley Tribune -- Jody Clark says it takes $100 a week to fill up his truck with gas. It’s no wonder the word below his gas tank says “gashole.”

Although gas prices have dropped roughly 20 cents since April, some still complain that the price of gas remains too high. One Greeley man has his own answer to high gas prices: traveling by foot.

“The prices are still expensive to me. I have a kid,” said Kenny Miller, who said he doesn’t drive if he doesn’t have to. He lives close enough to walk to work and the grocery store.

Lexi Gerk, a recent graduate from Northridge High School, just got a new car.

“The price of gas stinks. But I drive a Prius, so I’m not too worried about it,” Gerk said.

Gerk, who lives in Greeley but commutes to work in Denver several times a week, gets about 45 miles per gallon and her

I won't hold my breath on further gasoline price drops. After all, we have the 4th of July weekend coming up. Nice way for Pig Oil to reap more record profits.

Fuel prices have 'dropped' about 50 cents or more a gallon but not as fast as when fuel prices went up. The Cherry Point refinery in Washington state has started producing fuel again (refinery fire in February) and that has helped lower the fuel price at the pump. It seems that is not all of the reason either, maybe some behind the scenes manipulation by Big Oil with that supply and demand thing. 'Coming out of the closet' Barry needs to lower the price at the pump much lower, to about $2/gallon. Residents Remain Skeptical!
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe and reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Look out, here comes July 4th - the lowering by pennies and nickels per day comes just before the jump up by dimes once or twice a day.
==
@MadTraveler - no kidding - out with the current regime!
==
@jrsva - you got it! "To continue reading this article, a web site subscription is required." - simply means we don't read their junk and don't have to look at their ads. Nice how most of the article probably shows here anyway - at least more than the first paragraph and a few extra words on their site.
I guess gas prices have dropped so the cost of their paperless newspaper had to go up.

People are skeptical because no matter how low fuel prices drop they'll go right back up in the blink of an eye.

Big Oil is keeping prices as high as possible to make more mega bucks, so the execs can take home massive bonuses.
