Gas prices defy predictions as worldwide demand drops

The Patriot-News -- It seems like only yesterday that analysts were giving us a doomsday forecast that gas would hit $5 by Memorial Day or shortly thereafter.

Instead, after peaking around $4, the national average for a price of regular unleaded has plummeted 61 cents since April 5, AAA spokesman Michael Green said Monday.
Harrisburg area fell 4 cents last week, to $3.18 a gallon. Some prices are nudging toward $3. Rutters in New Cumberland posted $3.06 Monday.

Kyle Miller sees the difference every time he fills up his Ford pickup. His cost has dropped from about $100 to $70 — or another $30 in his pocket.

Fuel demand drops/ gas prices go down! Gas prices have lowered a little at the pump but the price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon, $3 to $3.50/gallon is Not the new Low! Supply and Demand does not exist for fuel prices. This must be election year fuel prices, after the election fuel prices will go absurd again!.
Big Oil continues to sell fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices, there will be NO price reduction for the cost of fuel or natural gas IN the US. 'Coming out of the closet' Barry (aka – vampire/ghost hunter) will support natural gas and oil production for sale on the world market to pay for his ‘spending gone wild’ addiction and receive the huge federal tax income from oil. Barry's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population. The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! Speculators, manipulators and the banks continue to unfairly and unjustly make the driving public pay higher prices at the pump for their personal benefit.
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Goes to show that the experts aren't all that expert. Anybody who thinks they can predict the future is a fool.

Gas prices were falling nicely here, but then it jumped at least $.30 today. Sure was nice while it lasted.

Well, business or economic predictions have been wrong. However, when it comes to fuel pricing, a certain measure of pessimism will get a more accurate prediction.

So, some of us have been right....

It is a blessing to see gas prices going down instead of up.. Answer to my prayers..I continue to pray that they go down even more....We are challenged with high prices all around and most of us have not had a cost of living raise in over four years...

Well the speculators are trying to run up oil prices again. A little good news on the economy and bang, they shoot it in the other foot.

Let's be thankful for what we have...$3.20 a gallon rather than $5.00 and over per gallon, as it is in some European countries.

No one has jobs, of course the demand will drop. Gov't has spent all the money and are deeply on debt. The can has been kicked down the road and there is it a dead end road.
