Westerns are friendly but a stupid lot. Friendly but stupid.
I used to put in 5W20 in the Toronto area for the winter and 20W40 in the summer.
Out here, even though winter is far more extreme, I can't find anything lower than 5W30 out west.
One thing I used to do with old beasts that had the room was to put in the biggest battery that would fit with the max cranking amps. These days cars no longer offer the luxury of extra space. One can only hope batteries get more efficient.
Thanks for your suggestion anyway. I am looking at 15 watts worth of solar panel on the back ledge behind the back seats but that don't help me much at 5 AM these days.
