Medford is 1350' elev, a volcanic hill behind my house is 3600', Mt Ashland is 35 miles south at 7500', Mt McLoughlin is 40 miles north at 9500', couple hours drive south is Mt Shasta at 14,500'. From I-5 interstate it is a couple hours drive to the Pacific.
